Senior Accountant - Property Accounting

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the co-ordination of the property accounting process comprising of several branch/offsite locations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of costs, billings, monthly financial statements and working paper preparation, other ad-hoc reports as required and the oversight of accounts payable and receivable function in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring proper documentation exists.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to maintain accuracy and completeness in conformity to company’s policies and procedures
Prepare month-end working papers for review including all supporting documentation in accordance with accounting timelines
Ensure proper communication is maintained between accounting department and property level teams as required, on regular basis.

Collaborate with Property Managers for monthly accrual list, verify list for accuracy and communicate any discrepancies
Reconcile operating expenses with revenues

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain the company’s system of accounts for all property management functions.

Qualifications include:
CPA designation, a recognized graduate degree in finance or business is preferred.
Strong analytical, technology, leadership, management and communications skills.
10 years of experience in accounting or finance, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role preferably in the real estate industry.
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, be familiar with Property Management Accounting and should have held positions of increasing responsibility in accounting.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop solid and lasting business relationships and the ability to provide accurate and timely information to executive management are key.
